About Us

The Medical Education Collaborative (MEC) d.b.a. Foundation for Greater Good (F2G2) is a nonprofit corporation, founded in 1988 and is a tax-exempt organization under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code ("IRC").

The Organization previously developed and certified medical education activities that improved patient care and medical professional excellence. The Organization was initially accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education "ACCME" in 1992 and continued to receive full accreditation every four years thereafter through June 2009. The Organization certified medical education activities in a variety of specialty areas and often focused on a multi-disciplinary approach that addressed multiple components of the healthcare team and was focused solely on independent accreditation services and certification. By eliminating potential for conflicts of interest through an independent certification-only structure, the Organization ensured the highest quality education and accreditation services.

During fiscal year 2009, the Board of Directors for the Organization elected to discontinue providing accreditation services and determined a new path that it wished to follow in order to renew its commitment to its mission and charitable purpose. The Organization continues doing business as the Foundation for Greater Good (F2G2) by providing grant funding exclusively for charitable, educational, and scientific purposes within the meaning of Section 501(c)(3) of the IRC.

The Organization's core endeavor is to partner with non-profit organizations to provide charitable support and engage in activities relating to positive educational and research initiatives that seek to advance the quality of life and independence of individuals with health-related issues. To be considered for grant funding, applicants must be recognized by the Internal Revenue Service as a tax exempt 501(c) (3) non-profit organization and support a similar mission involving health, well-being, and education.
